Three hours, a pair of gloves, and a few good neighbors. That’s all it takes to make a real difference on the streets we walk every day.
This Saturday, October 3, Washington Square and surrounding neighbors are heading out for Clean and Green Community Day to pick up litter around Lake Avenue from Mountain to Elizabeth and Washington Boulevard from Los Robles to Hill. The busy corners so many of us pass on the way to errands, the bus, or an afternoon at Washington Park. A cleaner corner means a neighborhood we’re all a little prouder to come home to.

When: Saturday, October 3 · 9 AM to noon
Where: Meet at Washington Park, 700 E. Washington Blvd.
What to bring: Just yourself! Gloves, garbage bags, and refreshments will be provided.
Every Hand Makes a Difference
You don’t need to stay all morning. Come for an hour, work a single block, or simply stop by to cheer on your neighbors. It’s also a great chance to meet the people who live down the street and put a few more faces to names before the Block Party later this month.
